A DISQUALIFIED driver left the scene after hitting another vehicle at a junction and spinning the car through 180 degrees.

Blackburn magistrates heard Burhan Mahmood panicked because he knew he had no insurance or driving licence.

Mahmood, 33, of Neath Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and without insurance, driving while disqualified and failing to stop after an accident.

He was sentenced to six weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, made subject to community supervision for 12 months, banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay £165 costs.
