A 62-year-old pervert was caught with a mobile phone fixed to his shoe filming up a woman’s skirt.

Blackburn magistrates were told that when police ‘interrogated’ his phone they found more ‘up-skirt’ footage. And David Brown told officers: “It got to be a habit.”

Brown, of Chatterton Drive, Accrington, pleaded guilty to four charges of committing an act of a lewd, obscene and disgusting nature likely to outrage public decency.

He was remanded on bail until February 7 for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. A charge of voyeurism was withdrawn.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Brown was seen acting suspiciously in B&Q in Blackburn.

“He had a phone fixed to his shoe and placed it under a female who was wearing a very short summer dress,” said Miss Allan.

“When the police examined his phone they discovered other images which they couldn’t date.”

Richard Prew, defending, said it was accepted the magistrates would require pre-sentence reports.

“You are dealing with a man of 62 years of age, married with children, who has never been before the courts before,” said Mr Prew.

PC Gareth Brooks, who worked on the case, said: “Brown's activity was a huge breach of privacy and would be very unsettling to anyone.

“Due to the vigilance of the security guard, we have been able to bring him before the courts and I am glad that he has pleaded guilty.”
