East Lancashire £50million business park development bridge complete

First published in News

THE bridge connecting a £50million business park development to the M65 is now complete.

It links the 70-acre Burnley Bridge Business Park, developed by Eshton, directly to the motorway by crossing the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

Once fully occupied, the site is expected to generate 1,400 new jobs and attract businesses that are looking to benefit from a central location.

James Chapman, managing director of Eshton, said: “The completion of this iconic bridge shows that the project is really starting to take shape and the development has already received significant interest from large occupiers.

“The business park’s prominent location and the calibre of accommodation on offer will ensure that the development appeals to both local and national operators.”

Eshton are in negotiations with several companies about moving to the site, but contracts have yet to be signed.

For regional and national businesses looking to relocate, the completion of the bridge and road infrastructure will provide good access for both logistics vehicles and public transport.

Phase one of the development will comprise the 64,100 sq ft Cobalt Building and the 29,000 sq ft Magnesium Court, which are both currently under construction.

Diane Bourne, managing director of Eric Wright Civil Engineering, which undertook the construction of the bridge, said: “We are delighted that the construction of the bridge and surrounding road access have been completed as this will create direct road links and open up the development for potential occupiers.”
