Barnoldswick bus services scrapped

First published in News

THE deadline for responding to a consultation which could see Barnoldswick lose some of its late bus services is today.

Councillors in the town have set up a petition calling on the existing bus routes and timetables to be saved.

They said: “Labour-run Lancashire County Council are proposing to stop subsidising the last bus in the evening to Barnoldswick. “What it will probably mean is that the last bus of the day will leave Colne to Barnoldswick (via Earby) at around 9.30pm, and the last bus out of Barnoldswick will be around 10pm.

Then, as the contracts come up with bus companies, they’re going to review each one, even the daytime ones.” To sign the petition, visit barnoldswick.wix.com/buses.
