THREE bikers who went for a high speed burn-up on the M65 have escaped driving bans.
Blackburn magistrates heard a police officer pursuing the trio reached speeds of 143 mph, between junctions three and four, as he tried to catch them.
And the riders conceded they had travelled in excess of 130 mph.
Peter Broadbent, 43, Nicholas Groggins, 36, and Shane Wright, 43, all from Southport admitted speeding.
Broadbent was fined £330 with £128 costs, Groggins £315 with £126 costs and Wright, £130 with £105 costs. Their driving licences were also endorsed with six penalty points.
