WORK placements in child care, health and social care and administration are available in Burnley.

The traineeships, with Lancashire Adult Learning, offer real work experience to 16 to 23-year-olds, giving an insight into world of work and developing skills to help young people gain a job or an apprenticeship in similar job sectors.

Traineeships can prepare for a future career, helping candidates get ready for the world of work and improving their chances of getting a job or apprenticeship, as well as giving the opportunity to build a CV and increase skills.

Trainees will be offered work preparation training, to give candidates the skills and confidence needed for an apprenticeship or other job, maths and English support, and meaningful ‘real’ work experience to give candidates insight into world of work At the end of the work experience placement candidates will have a job interview with the company, if a role becomes available, and a reference.

A traineeship lasts between three and six months, including a work placement. The programme is 12 weeks in duration with up to 16 hours per week in the classroom and work place.
