A PEOPLE carrier was left on its roof following an incident in Preston New Road, Mellor.
Fire crews were called to the scene near Stanley House at 9.15pm last night.
The vehicle was carrying four people, three of whom managed to free themselves immediately.
Crew manager Paul Guinan from Blackburn fire station said: “One of the passengers was suffering from shock, as is understandable.
“An ambulance technician advised him to stay in the car until the ambulance arrived but he was then able to get himself out of the vehicle and walk to the ambulance.
“There were no serious injuries - they were very lucky.”
The road around the Windmill pub/Mellor turning was closed for an hour.
