MORE than £8,326 was raised for Rossendale Hospice by people paying their respects to loved ones at a Light Up A Life event at Longholme Methodist Church in Rawtenstall.
A spokeswoman for the hospice said: “The church was packed to the rafters.
“Helmshore Primary School Choir sang beautifully, and the 2nd Rossendale Scout Band were fantastic at creating the right ambiance, along with singer Tom Lilley and our nurse, Sue Ainsworth.
“Our volunteers helped on the stalls after the event and everyone seemed happy to receive a warm drink and welcoming mince pie provided by Cordey’s Craft Bakery.
“The incredible total of £8326 was raised from the dedications made prior to the evening and from the stalls on the night.
“This was also achieved by the sponsorship from Fred Hamers Funeral Services.“Thank you to everybody who contributed.”
