A NEW neighbourhood watch scheme has been set up in Bacup.
Police officers and staff from the Your Housing Group have helped to launch the Hammerton Green neighbourhood watch scheme.
Police said the scheme would help give residents living in the area greater involvement in local policing and the issues that affect them.
PCSO Chris Hamer said: “The scheme has been set up to give the community greater involvement and communication with the local policing team.
“The neighbourhood policing team would like to invite members of the public who do not live in a neighbourhood watch area to contact their local officers.
“Details can be found on the police website www.lancashire.police.uk.”
