PARENTS of pupils at a primary school are being asked to leave the playground as soon as is practicably possible at the end of the day.
Staff at St Peter’s CofE Primary School, in Simonstone, told carers that because the property was private, it was not insured as a public play area.
Headteacher Sally Smith said in a newsletter to parents: “Please do not let children play on the adventure play areas, play football or climb trees after school. Of course, the exception to this rule is children who are staying after school for supervised school-run activities or children who attend The Out of Schools Experience and who are accompanied by their staff. This is for the safety of all the children.”
