THE teenage girl suspected to have been murdered by her boyfriend went to school in East Lancashire.

Yesterday the dad of 17-year-old Jayden Parkinson, who still lives locally, said he would miss his daughter ‘so much’.

Jayden had not been seen in over two weeks after failing to return to her home in Oxfordshire.

A huge search for the missing teenager had taken place over the past two weeks, but police found a body, believed to be that of Jayden, in a cemetery on Wednesday night.

The 17-year-old used to live in Pendle with dad Paul, and attended Primet High School, in Colne, for around a year.

Yesterday Paul, who still lives in Nelson, said on Facebook: “Good night baby girl. I will miss you so much. I love you always.”.

Jayden also has two uncles who live in East Lancashire, Darren Parkinson, who lives in Cromer Grove, Burnley, and Glen Parkinson, who lives in Rutland Street, Nelson.

Friends who knew Jayden from her time in Pendle yesterday paid tribute to a ‘brilliant friend’, and expressed their shock about what had happened.

Laurence Ingram, who got to know Jayden through a friend and become close friends with her, said: “Jayden was a brilliant friend who would go out of her way for the people she cared about.

“She was such a close friend to many. When i needed someone to talk to, she was always there for me.

“I couldn't have asked for anything more. The fond memories we all have of Jayden, keep her alive in our hearts.

“My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time. RIP Jayden, you are in a better place now.”

The teenager had been missing from her home in Oxfordshire for over two weeks, but Thames Valley Police confirmed officers had found a body, believed to be Jayden’s, in a cemetery in Didcot on Wednesday night.

Former school mate Laura Morgan said on Twitter: “Can't believe Jayden Parkinson was only two years below me in school and she's now had her life taken away from her. Absolutely disgusting.”

Another school friend said on Twitter: “Jayden Parkinson's body has been found. Weird to think that she used to catch the after school bus with me and annoy me.”

In another post on Facebook Paul wrote: “Baby I hope God will look after you now.”

Her uncle Darren wrote: “RIP Jayden Parkinson, heaven has a beautiful angel now.”

A neighbour of Glen said he was too upset to talk about Jayden publicly.

Former Primet High School pupil Jodie Mitchell wrote on Facebook: “Can't believe this Paul. Keep a strong head on you.”

Burnley resident Ian Plane wrote: “So sorry for your loss. I know your angel is with you and your family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.”

Alan Harrison, who is also from Burnley, wrote: “RIP Jayden. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time Paul.”

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We can confirm we have offered to provide support for a family member of Jayden Parkinson who lives in Lancashire.”

Jayden’s 22-year-old boyfriend Ben Blakeley, from Reading, was charged with her murder earlier this week and a 17-year-old Didcot boy has been accused of helping Blakeley hide her body. Both are in custody and will appear in court in March.
