HYNDBURN MP Graham Jones branded health secretary Jeremy Hunt a ‘loony’ after the care bill was debated in the House of Commons.
Mr Jones took to Twitter to write: “Jeremy Hunt speech; a car crash.
“Loony ‘lost it’. Rant against the Labour Party. Receives lecture from Mr Speaker.”
The bill outlines plans to overhaul care, including giving greater power to trust special administrators (TSAs) and to cap the cost of care, and is having its second reading in the House of Commons. The NHS Confederation said on its website that it welcomed most of the measures in the bill, ‘particularly those aimed at improving openness in the NHS.’ Mr Jones was not available for comment yesterday.
