A SUPERMARKET in Great Harwood has been granted a licence to sell alcohol.
Whiteheads, in Park Street, have permission to sell alcohol between 7am and 1am from Monday to Thursday, 7am until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 8am until 12am on Sundays.
The supermarket will employ extra staff, install CCTV cameras, and train staff, it said in an operating document sent to the council.
A small number of objections were received, but Coun Ken Moss said: βIt was ultimately decided to grant the licence in view of the number of other outlets in the vicinity which already supply alcohol.β
