A FESTIVE trip by a luncheon club has been supported by a Rossendale county councillor.
Coun Alyson Barnes, who represents Rossendale North, was approached by Crawshawbooth Community Association for support totalling £300.
The association runs a Tuesday luncheon club for senior citizens in the village, followed by an opportunity for coffee and a chat, and Coun Barnes was told that for some regular attendees it may be their only yuletide outing.
Last year the luncheon club received backing for a similar enterprise – and they have invited Coun Barnes along as a gesture of goodwill.
