HARDY trekkers in Ramsbottom have collected more than £13,000 to improve their own chances of a well-rounded education.
Funds from the Friends of Woodhey’s 2013 sponsored walk, staged in September, have now been collated by organisers.
And it has been announced that £13,312 has been collected, with some of the money being earmarked for picnic benches around the Bolton Road West campus and a further donation set aside for improved audio-visual facilities in one of the school halls.
Five forms at Woodhey also qualified for a non-uniform day as a result of their fundraising. Fresh ideas are being sought for the rest of the funds.
