AN investigation has been launched after a shotgun is believed to have been fired in a Blackburn street.

The incident happened at about 9.20pm last night outside a house in Kempton Rise.

The suspects are believed to have made off in a number of vehicles two of which were later recovered nearby.

A number of other vehicles have also recovered as part of the police investigation.  A shotgun believed to have been used in the incident has also been recovered.

No-one is believed to have been injured and police are not aware of any damage caused by the gun being fired.

The motive for this incident is currently unclear and inquiries are ongoing.
