Darwen primary school is 'working towards improvements'

A DARWEN primary school told it requires improvement at its last Ofsted inspection is ‘taking effective action’ to improve, according to inspectors.

After returning to St Joseph’s Primary School in Limes Avenue, inspectors said ‘senior leaders and governors were taking effective action to tackle the areas requiring improvement’.

Headteacher Anne O’Brien said: “We are delighted that during our recent visit, it was judged that we are taking effective action to tackle the areas requiring improvement.

“The school has benefited enormously from the help and support provided by our partner school and we are pleased that all involved now feel we are ready to continue our journey unaided.

“Indeed, we have already started to work on the next steps that our inspector suggested.”
