A SHARE sale for the Whalley Community Hydro project will end today. Project bosses extended the offer last month in a bid to raise the money needed to get the scheme off the ground.

The sale raised almost £300,000 in its first three weeks.

The project aims to generate community-owned clean energy on the River Calder and has received support from The Co-operative Enterprise Hub. The group is aiming to raise £400,000, to install a turbine capable of generating up to 345,000kWh of energy a year.
