POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two pedestrians suffered serious injuries following a collision in Haslingden.

Around 5pm on Tuesday 10 December, a Ford Focus and a Peugeot 307 collided on Grane Road at the junction with Waterside Road.

As a result of the collision the Peugeot 307 mounted the pavement and collided with a man and a woman who were walking towards Haslingden.

The 41 year old woman from Helmshore was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with two broken legs while her 36 year old husband was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with a deep cut to his head.

The driver of the Focus was uninjured while the driver of the 307 suffered minor injuries.

Sergeant Tracey Ward said: β€œAn investigation into the circumstances surrounding this collision is now underway and I would appeal to anybody who witnessed it to contact police.”
