Man hunted after sex assault on Blackburn schoolgirl

A MAN is being hunted by police after a school girl was sexually assualted in Blackburn.

The 16-year-old girl was walking home alone from a friend’s house at around 5.30pm on Wednesday afternoon when the attack happened.

She was walking along Amberley Street when she heard a man jogging behind her.

The man ran up behind her, touched her inappropriately, and then carried on running.

Detective Sergeant Eric Halford from Lancashire Police said: “The victim was walking home through quite an industrial area of Blackburn when the man assaulted her.

“With her being in school uniform that aggrevates the offence.

“The victim was clearly a child. We have CCTV stills of the offender, who was wearing quite distinctive clothing.”

The man involved has been described as being aged in his late teens, around five feet five inches tall, and of skinny build.

He was wearing dark clothing, and his top had a large, light-coloured stripe across the middle.

Surely, one of the biggest aids to identifying a suspect would be stating his/her skin tone/ethnicy but, not for the first time, none is given. Did the poor girl not notice or is it no longer politically correct to do so for fear of causing someone, somwhere, offence? Black, Caucasion, Brown, Oriental, Slovak, Aboriginal, etc,. As such, it seems a strange omission. It would narrow the search down somewhat. I guess in today's world it is not supposed to matter and wrong to ask.

Surely aggravate is the word they are trying to use here. Nasty assault though hope the child is OK. People like this need catching as it usually escalates to something more sinister.

Would help if the police released the colour or ethnicity of the suspect especially in a multi racial town such as Blackburn.

This paper is a disgrace, know matter what color a offender is it should be released , and the photos.. I had police at my door as we have CCTV and thay caught a dirty sex attacker , but wait for it , the police said it's not us its the telegraph refusing to publish it as it's censored in case thay get sued for breach of human rights .. That's how weak this paper is , thinks of the criminal before the public ... Show your disgust by not buying it , I've never bought one since ,, hit them in the pocket ... Don't buy the telegraph , don't buy the telegraph pass it on ....

That explains a lot. I have not paid good money for a `news' rag for years. The MSM either has it's own agenda to push (not surprising when you look at who owns most of the press) or has it's strings pulled by the Establishment - or both. It often hides the real truth about what is really happening around us which is why a lot of the more enlightened get their info off the internet or Russian Television (RT). Same with UK television - I seldom watch it.
