A DOCTOR is looking to build a new family home on the site of a former water pumping station in Waterfoot.
Dr Anwar Ansari, who lives in Croydon, wants to demolish the now-disused station, on land at Baron Fold, to make way for the development.
A spokesman for planning agent Suburban Studios said the pumping station was sold at auction by United Utilities after it was no longer used.
He added: “ It is proposed that the building be demolished and replaced by an alternative structure.”
The only property which it is said would be affected is Baron Fold Cottage.
But the agents claim the amount of daylight lost would be ‘minimal.’
