ASPIRING special constables are being invited to join the Lancashire Constabulary team.
The force is hosting an open evening at Greenbank police station, in Blackburn, from 7pm tonight to give an insight into the work.
The county has more than 400 specials, who patrol, police local events and take part in crime reduction projects.
Specials co-ordinator Nigel Walker said: “This is a great opportunity for people who want a career in policing and definitely sets a good foundation for those who want to go on to become a regular officer.
“Being a special gives the opportunity to learn important skills that can also be used in everyday life, while giving something back to the community.”
