A SIXTH form student has used his favourite Rawtenstall tea shop to help him to pass his media course.

Alder Grange student Richard Harrison, 17, filmed A Right Royal Tea Party’s’ progress after new owners took the cafe in Ormerod Road over in May and redesigned it.

The five minute film was used as part of Richard’s Creative Media BTEC course.

Richard said: “One of the units on my creative media course was to make a promotional video and ‘A Right Royal Tea Party’ has always been my favourite coffee shop so I decided to film here.

“At the time it had just been taken over so I managed to watch the shop be redecorated and chart all the changes on film. I come here a lot as I like the vintage feel of it.

@I hope they enjoy the DVD.”

Richard is also studying A-Level Art and English Literature.

Debra Allonby, co-owner of the cafe, said: “It’s a film we can keep and look back at with pride.”
