Drug busts across Eastleigh and West End

Lancashire Telegraph: Drug busts across Hampshire Drug busts across Hampshire

A MAJOR police drugs bust operation has taken place in a Hampshire town today.

Officers arrested two men and seized drugs after carrying out seven raids in the Eastleigh area and another in West End this morning.

It was all part of a crackdown on dealers in the Eastleigh area run in conjunction with the Operation Fortress team.

A 31-year-old man was arrested at an address in Duddon Close, in Chartwell Green, West End and a 23-year-old man was arrested at an address in Jackdaw Rise, Eastleigh.

A quantity of what is believed to be cannabis was recovered from the address.

Some more was found at an address in Alexander Square, Boyatt Wood, where another raid took place.

An amount of suspected class 'A' drugs was also recovered from an address in Southampton Road, Eastleigh.

Superintendent Ben Snuggs said: “There were two main purposes for today's raids.

“One is to send a clear message to people supplying drugs in the area that we know who they are, and will take all available steps to prevent their operation.

“The other is to reassure the public that we will continue to act on information they give us.

“Today's raids wouldn't have been possible without that help and I'd encourage anyone who knows about any illegal drug dealing to let us know as soon as possible.

“We will use this information to plan more days of action and continue to make the wider Eastleigh area a safer place to live and work.”

“We are working closely with the Operation Fortress team and I would ask that anyone with information about drug dealing calls us in confidence on 101 or phones the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 anonymously.”

Fact is your are getting what we want and not what you want - vote for somebody prepared to give you what you want. It may be faulty but it is a form of democracy.

Has it ever occured to you, that the vast majority of decent people regard any form of drug usage as criminal anyway? It is not so much the "weed" as you call it, it is what that leads on to. I regard it a waste of my money funding the Health Service to deal with people that have abused their bodies and waste hours of time getting treatment.

Where is the proof weed leads on to anything? And why would anyone need to use the health service for because of smoking weed? There has never been one recorded death because of cannabis "misuse" ..yet it costs the tax payers of the country millions a year to enforce the law on it...do you enjoy a beer after work or at the weekend? Its the same kind of thing, yet the choice I have made, keeps me out of trouble, (when they dont find me) as i sit at home and play video games and watch movies, and wont kill me...yet booze is perfectly legal, kills millions, and causes violent behaviour. ..

Nobody with a working brain cell will doubt that we do have an alcohol problem in the UK, exacerbated by stupid governments doing away with the 1914 Licensing Act. However only a user, possibly affected by cannabis, and therefore devoid of a usable brain, will doubt that cannabis does cause serious irreversible brain damage. Cretins that have become brain damaged through cannabis use sometimes affect innocent peoples lives, so it's not just themselves they harm. All illegal drug dealers should be hung.

"stop wasting money on something you can not win"
I think that applies to all types of crime, you may wish for anarchy but the majority of the law abiding people do not
