THE rich and varied history of Clitheroe will be the topic of a talk to be hosted by the town’s Civic Society.
The illustrated talk, which will take place on Monday, will be led by Author Peter del Strother.
Mr del Strother is the author of History of Ribblesdale Cement, which was published in 2008.
The talk will cover topics including the earliest known letters to have been sent from Clitheroe Post Office.
The first letter, from Stonyhurst College was posted to Wiltshire on October 8, 1764.
The event will be held in the Ribble Valley Borough Council’s chambers in Church Street.
The time is still to be confirmed and the talk is free of charge.
