Dementia awareness events to be held in Ribble Valley
5:50pm Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
DEMENTIA awareness training sessions are set to be held in the Ribble Valley over the next two weeks.
The free sessions are part of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s campaign to be recognised as a ‘dementia friendly’ area.
The training is designed to set up a network of ‘dementia friends’ throughout the borough who may come into contact with people with the condition in a variety of locations.
The free sessions will take place at Longridge Library on Tuesday and at the borough council chamber in Clitheroe on Tuesday, October 29.
The sessions will include training in awareness and understanding of dementia, and how to show their families how to get help and support.
The Longridge session in Berry Lane will take place from 6pm to 6.45pm and the Clitheroe session in Church Street will be held from 4.30pm to 6pm.
