Celebrations for East Lancashire law team
AN East Lancashire law firm is enjoying a double celebration after receiving two national endorsements.
Watson Ramsbottom Ltd, with offices in Blackburn, Darwen, Great Harwood and Accrington, has been recognised on a national scale for its work in property sales and purchases and family law.
The Watson Ramsbottom Property Team, headed by Elton Ashworth, has been shortlisted for the 2013 Law Society Excellence Awards in the Excellence in Conveyancing Practice Category.
The award is open only to those firms that have achieved the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) accreditation, which is the recognised standard for quality in residential conveyancing.
The winners will be announced at the Law Society Excellence Awards in London next Tuesday.
The Family Law team has also been awarded inclusion in the Legal 500.
Published annually, the Legal 500 closely researches and recognises the leading firms practicing in specific areas of law and has included Watson Ramsbottom amongst the top family law practices in the UK.
Joint head of department Rachel Horman, who scooped Family Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year last year, said: “This is a wonderful achievement for the family team and the firm. It is very satisfying to see the continued efforts and commitment of all of our team being recognised in such a prestigious publication.”
The Watson Ramsbottom Family Team has also grown to include one of the largest specialist departments in the country dealing with domestic violence, forced marriage and child care.
Managing director Philip Thompson said: “This accolade for our family team is well deserved and comes hot on the heels of news of the Watson Ramsbottom property team being shortlisted for the Law Society Excellence Awards. We are delighted that our commitment to providing high quality legal services across East Lancashire and beyond is receiving such positive recognition.”
