Ribble Valley police 'short changed'
3:18pm Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
RIBBLE Valley police are being ‘short changed’ over their funding according to the chairman of the Community Safety Partnership.
Borough councillor Kevin Horkin has said that the police don’t have enough funding to ‘adequately police’ the area during the day.
He has said that the funding is focused on the evening and that more should be done to protect funding for policing from noon onwards.
He said: “For too long the Ribble Valley has been short changed over police funding and it’s because people think that no crime ever is commit here but that’s simply not the case.
“The police need more help in order to tackle the problems that we have in the borough and more funding would be a major step towards that.”
