7:00pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
PLANS to open a drive-thru coffee shop in Burnley have been scrapped.
Blackburn company, The Kay Group, wanted to demolish the service station in Rossendale Road, and replace it with a new forecourt building, car washing facilities and a drive-through coffee shop.
But now the company, which operates from Grimshaw Park, has applied to Burnley Council for permission to re-site jet wash bays after it shelves plans for the coffee shop.
The rest of the development will still go ahead, if permission is granted.
The company’s application read: “The viability of the coffee shop was not certain. Therefore, to re-site the jet wash bays gives a better layout.”
The new application will be considered by the council .
