4:30pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
POLICING priorities in Clitheroe have been set following a meeting between residents and members of the neighbourhood policing team.
Anti-social behaviour, vehicle break-ins, and shoplifting will all be targeted, police said.
A spokesman said: “We are focusing on ensuring that anti-social behaviour within the castle grounds and the town centre areas is kept under control, particularly as we approach November and Bonfire Night.”
Owners of vans and commercial vehicles were also warned to be vigilant after a spate of thefts.
The spokesman said: “Several vans and other vehicles have been interfered with or broken into our the past few weeks. We urge owners of vans and commercial vehicles to park them in safe places, and to remove valuables from the rear.
“The police station has stickers designed to stick on van windows, which state that valuables have been removed.”
Police have also indentified a number of offenders who have been shoplifting in Clitheroe and will be monitoring the situation.
Next month’s meetings have been schedules for 10am at Pendle Court, Hayhurst Street and 6.30pm at St Annes Court, Low Moor, both on Wednesday, November 6, and at 7pm at the Henthorn Community Centre, Hazel Grove, on Thursday, November 7 .
