Talks over condition of Barnoldswick yard
5:12pm Friday 4th October 2013 in News
PENDLE councillors are to meet with the owners of an industrial site in Barnoldswick over the condition of the service yard.
Some improvements have been made to the yard at Gissing and Lonsdale, in Wellhouse Road, but councillors are keen to hear about long- term plans for the area.
Lee Greenwood, Pendle Council planning officer, said: “Concerns have been raised regarding the condition of the yard area, which is highly visible from the highway when passing the site.
“At present, the items in the yard have been stored in a more logical manner, away from the boundary fencing. The types, and amount, of items changes with the activity of the business, which can alter the appearance of the yard over time.
“As there are still concerns regarding the appearance of the site, the owner will be contacted and a meeting arranged with councillors to discuss their future intentions for management of the area.”
