Target on waiting for psychological therapies in Blackburn with Darwen
4:41pm Friday 4th October 2013 in News
HEALTH chiefs said they were still ‘working hard’ to reduce the waiting times for psychological therapies in Blackburn with Darwen, where depressed patients have faced year-long waits to see a counsellor.
The Telegraph revealed the problem noting that the target waiting time for the borough was just 28 days. This prompted fears that help could be coming too late for patients who might have undetected suicidal tendencies.
Patients with other psychological problems have also faced a year-long wait for some treatments, which are also delivered by Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. The target wait is 10 weeks by December.
