Thumbs-up for 46 new homes in Barnoldswick
PLANS for 46 new homes on land in Barnoldswick are set to be approved by councillors next week.
The scheme, for land off Valley Road, will be discussed by the West Craven Area Committee on Tuesday but planning officers have recommended it is approved.
In a report, Pendle Council planning officer Lee Greenwood said: “The supporting information details that up to 45 per cent of the properties will be ‘affordable’ in terms of tenure and this will assist in achieving the council's objectives to provide a range and choice of housing options.
"It is also advised that the development is supported by the housing association Twin Valley Homes.
“The dwellings proposed would be within walking distance of local employers, the town centre and other services, along with the open space and play area immediately adjacent.”
One objection was received to the scheme from a local resident, who said that the development would cause disruption and traffic problems.
A spokesman for the developers, Mulbury Homes, said: “The application site comprises open land located between allotments and a private car park used by Silent Night, an adjacent business.
