SEARCHING for that perfect wedding venue, dress, flowers, cake, and anything else on that seemingly endless bride-to-be’s list can be hard work.

But now, thanks to Linzi Idle, shopping around for your perfect day has been made a whole lot easier.

The mum-of-two has launched wedding website www.thewedding page-nw.co.uk, spurred on by her experiences trying to plan her own wedding two years ago.

Linzi said that planning a wedding is often far away from the glitz and glamour of the movie The Wedding Planner that sees Jennifer Lopez, as San Francisco's most successful supplier of romance and glamour look easy.

Without a wedding planner, it is often hard work.

“When you are planning a wedding, it’s usually shopping around to get the best deal,” said Linzi.

“When my husband, Robert, and I got married two years ago we wanted a wedding with a real difference, just like every bride and groom, but we were also on a budget and had limited time to organise everything.

“When we started researching all the things we would need to book and buy it very soon became overwhelming and we ended up spending a lot of time and money on wedding magazines, scouring the internet and going to wedding fayres.

“It struck me that if all the information and local suppliers were together, it would be much easier,” she said.

Linzi, 28, received £4,000 funding and business support to set up her enterprise from the government’s Start Up Loan programme, whichhelps young people across the UK set upon their own.

Start Up Loans Company is a government backed business innovations and skills initiative delivered through the Chairmanship of former Dragons’ Den star James Caan.

She now runs the business from her home in Barnoldswick and brings all the local wedding services together making it easier to shop around.

“I have also met a lot of smaller, artisan wedding suppliers who are producing some amazing cakes, clothes and gifts and we wanted to give them an inexpensive platform.”
