POETS from the Pennine Lancashire Poetry Society Stanza are to take to the stage at a literature festival next month.
The wordsmiths will appear at the Ilkley Playhouse during the town’s literature festival, on Friday, October 11.
The event, called ‘The Family Skeleton’, features work with a family, community and relationships theme, with a special focus on the Brontes.
The readers will include writer and editor Jo Harding, proprietor of Clitheroe Books, and Phil Burton, also known as Pip the Poet, who visits schools and libraries across the UK with performances and workshops.
Mrs Harding said: “Two of our members were shortlisted in last year's Ilkley Literature Festival Poetry Competition, and another has been shortlisted in this year’s competition. We are delighted to be included in such a prestigious festival, and invite literature enthusiasts to join us for what promises to be an hour of great poetry.”
The festival will be in the Wildman Studio, and is free.
