Blackburn students inspired by talk

BUSINESS and design students met a local entreprenuer at a recent college event.
Business, Economics and Art and Design students at St Mary’s College, Blackburn, had the opportunity to meet nationally acclaimed designer Richard Joseph, CEO of Joseph Joseph.
Richard set up the kitchenware company in 2003 with his brother Antony and he gave an inspiring talk about his journey from a small business to the multi-million pound company it now is.
Richard told the students about the struggles in the early days of the company and put his success down to three main factors - focus, innovation and brand.
Student Haider Assi, 17, from Blackburn, said, “It was really beneficial and inspiring. Richard Joseph got me thinking how to map my career; where to start and how to reach my final goal. It gave me insight into the modern design technology world and how the business world works alongside design.”
The session was part of the college’s ‘Be Inspired’ programme.
