'Vulnerable' teenager goes missing from Ramsbottom
A ‘VULNERABLE’ teenager from Ramsbottom has been reported missing.
Kayleigh Hadfield, 18, was last spotted in her workplace at the Bellini restaurant, in Bolton Street, at 6.30pm on Sunday.
Greater Manchester police said they were ‘growing increasingly concerned’ about her disappearance.
They believe that Kayleigh, from Bury, who suffers from Asperger syndrome, may have visited Ramsbottom Music Festival.
Thousands of people attended the event, which was held at Ramsbottom Cricket Club’s Acre Bottom ground.
Officers are now appealing direct to festival goers to get in touch if they saw her.
Police are also speaking to friends, relatives and are conducting an extensive search of the area.
Chief Superintendent Tim Forber, divisional commander of Bury police, said: “Kayleigh is a vulnerable young woman and the circumstances in which she has gone missing are totally out of character. I am concerned for her welfare and need anyone who has seen her to contact us.
“One line of enquiry is that after leaving work she went to the Ramsbottom Music Festival, so I would ask anyone who went there yesterday evening to look at the photograph of Kayleigh and call us if you saw her.”
While she has been reported missing on one previous occasion, the circumstances of Kayleigh's disappearance are described as ‘completely out of character’.
She is described as white with a slim build and around 5ft 5in tall. When last seen she was wearing a black leather jacket, black long-sleeved blouse, black pants, black socks and shoes and a long-handed shoulder bag with black tassles.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 8222.
