Pendle MP welcomes Royal Mail service success
4:42pm Tuesday 3rd September 2013 in News
PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed the news that the Royal Mail has beaten its delivery target for the first quarter of 2013/14 in East Lancashire.
A total of 94.6per cent of first class mail was delivered on time in East Lancashire, beating the national level of 93.4per cent.
Mr Stephenson said: “Postal services are vital for many Pendle residents, and it is promising to see the improved performance by the Royal Mail, at the same time as significant investment in the Post Office network.
“Having visited both the Barnoldswick and Nelson sorting offices, and accompanied a postwoman on her round, I have seen first-hand the improvements that have been made.
“I believe with the continued improvements sought by the Royal Mail, the service will continue to improve in the future.”
