SHOPPERS are being urged to help a professor save lives with a clear-out.
Blackburn shoppers are being urged to bag up their unwanted goods to help a heart professor and the British Heart Foundation Professor Andrew Trafford, a BHF-funded researcher from the University of Manchester, will launch a month-long stock donation drive to fuel his life-saving research into heart disease.
Prof Trafford is launching the scheme at the Mall Blackburn’s British Heart Foundation shop this week.
Julie Clegg, area manager, said: “We are so excited to have Professor Trafford, coming along to help us launch the bag-athon. We’d love everyone to join us and bring along one bag or many of unwanted items If everyone in the Blackburn area sets aside some time to clear out their waredrobe and donate any unwanted clothes, shoes, toys, books, CDs and DVDs, the BHF can continue its work.”
The event at the Mall’s BHF shop is on Friday at 11am. Visit bhf.org.uk/bagathon for more information or pop into your local branch.
