EAST Lancashire’s Diana Vickers has teamed up with one of the world’s biggest boybands to advertise a new fragrance.

The 22-year-old provided the backing track to One Direction’s first commercial for Our Moment – the British boyband’s first official fragrance.

In the minute-long clip, already viewed millions of times on video website YouTube, Diana sings a My Favourite Things, a classic from The Sound Of Music.

The boyband’s members, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, have a combined wealth of more than £25m and a horde of dedicated fans.

Within minutes of the video being uploaded, it was ‘trending’ on Twitter – meaning it was one of the hottest topics in the world.

The ad shows the boyband frolicking with various fragrant items, including oranges and flowers.

One fan commented: “This sounds like a Tinkerbell song. I kind of like it, no hate.”

Another, Rosalie He, said: “I recognise this song. It was featured in the movie The Sound of Music. My favourite boyband and one of my favourite songs equals love.

Diana’s performance marked the former Westholme School pupil’s continued comeback after a three year break.

She burst on to the scene in 2008 when she finished fourth on the X Factor. One Direction, or 1D, came third in 2010.

Her second album, Music to Make Boys Cry, is due to be released on September 15.

One Direction’s fragrance is now on sale in Harrod’s and will be sold elsewhere from Monday, September 9.
