A NEW managing director has taken control of Burnley’s largest private-sector employer – and will be responsible for several new development programmes.
Production at Aircelle’s Bancroft Road plant is set to be ‘ramped-up’ over the next few months with a new Airbus A320 nacelles assembly. And Stephane Cueille has already spoken of his pride in his Burnley workforce and what can be achieved at the Heasand-ford site.
Another project will see the British arm of international aerospace giant Sarfran build the groundbreaking ‘O-Duct’, a vital component in a new generation of LEAP-1C engines which power commercial aircraft.
Mr Cueille said: “I was excited to join Aircelle because of its strong reputation within the Safran Group. This is a dynamic and innovative company that delivers world-class products.”
“We will begin delivering initial units this year for both the LEAP-1C’s O-Duct and the LEAP-1A’s inner fixed structure, which are important to our custom-ers in supporting the test campaign on the LEAP engines."
