TV licence warning to East Lancashire hotels
3:46pm Wednesday 14th August 2013 in News
HOTEL bosses are being reminded to ensure they have correct and valid TV licences.
TV Licensing said management are responsible for ensuring that the licence is compatible if guests are able to watch live TV in their rooms.
The cost of a licence for a guest house or hotel of 15 rooms or fewer is £145.50 per year and can be covered by the same licence used by private properties.
Those hotels which have more than 15 rooms must buy an additional licence for every five rooms they have.
A spokesman for TV Licensing UK said: “Long-term business reputation is more important than any gains made by cutting corners, particularly when it comes to keeping on the right side of the law.”
