ORGANISERS have hailed the success of Darwen Jazz and Blues Festival, which took place over the weekend.
The event, organised by Darwen Music Projects, saw jazz and blues gigs across the town, centring on the ticket-only events at Darwen Library Theatre on Friday and Saturday nights. Gary Ward, of Darwen Music Projects, said: “This years jazz and blues weekend saw a number of people visit Darwen from across the county, with some people choosing to stay on a nearby campsite.
“The vast majority of attendees and said it was a great success and I take a great deal of satisfaction from the fantastic feedback I received.
“There was a varied programme on offer and it was appreciated by all those who attended.
“I would like to thank Derren Lee Poole, Benn Robinson and Terry Walsh for all their hard work and support leading up to the weekend.
“Also, thank you to a very enthusiastic audience and the brilliant musicians who made it all worthwhile, Darwen Town Council for its kind financial donation and the Lancashire Telegraph for its ongoing support.”
