New business for former Burnley licensee
4:19pm Tuesday 13th August 2013 in News
A FORMER Burnley licensee is toasting a new business opportunity.
Gill Adams used to call time but now she is calling customers after landing a key telesales position with the new telecoms division of one of the region’s most progressive companies, Holker Network Solutions.
Gill, 42, spent two years running the Snowball Inn, Brierfield, before a career switch took her into telesales back in 2005.
“There is no better grounding for dealing with people than running a pub,” says Gill. “The experience at the Snowball, which sadly no longer exists as a public house, stood me in good stead. After then spending eight years in telesales, I now feel very comfortable and excited by this new challenge.”
The one-time Haslingden High School student teams up with another former pupil at the school, Holker Network Solutions managing director Matthew Metcalfe!
“That school connection had no bearing on our decision,” laughed Matthew. “Opening a Telecoms Division is a very big deal for us — a key element in our overall development. We wanted an experienced person to head up the sales and Gill certainly fits the bill.”
Holker Network Solutions, based in Colne and with an additional base in Burnley, is one of East Lancashire’s rising stars having landed the LT 2013 small business of the year award.
