Inspectors' praise for Haslingden nursery
4:16pm Tuesday 13th August 2013 in News
A HASLINGDEN nursery has leapt from satisfactory to good in the eyes of government inspectors.
Ofsted said staff at Hillside Kidz Club, in Cedar Avenue, had ‘a very good understanding of their roles and responsibilities’.
A report following the most recent inspection in July this year said: “Children demonstrate a positive approach to learning, supported by the cheerful interactions of the staff caring for them.
“Attentive staff play alongside the children offering gentle support and encouragement, extending children's learning with individual attention.”
The nursery, which has 51 children aged two, thee and four on its roll, was deemed satisfactory after its previous inspection in February 2012.
Inspector Sue Rae said: “To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should extend the opportunities for children to experience an outside environment that is as rich in print as the indoors.”
