DARWEN is gearing up to go back in time to the 1940s later this month.
The town centre will be transformed for the annual 1940s Day, on Saturday, August 31. A full day of entertainment has been arranged, from 10am in the Market Square, including a sniper alley, Second World War vehicles, and a 1949 Bristol car. Representatives from the British Legion will also be there. Food stalls will sell potato hash, black peas and sarsaparilla.
The main stage will feature a variety of entertainment, including ukelele player Natasha Jones, Winston Churchill impersonator Robert Burns, the Second World War Aero Enginge Society, and a Home Guard Drill Display.
