Pendle MP supports start-up scheme for young
3:02pm Thursday 8th August 2013 in News
PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed a new scheme to help young entrepreneurs.
The Start-up Loans scheme has been launched by the Government to help people set up their own businesses.
The scheme is for people aged 18 to 30 years old to apply for a loan to help set up their business and the average loan is around £4,500.
Mr Stephenson said: “The North West has received almost a fifth of loans so far through this scheme. Only Greater London has received more.
“This shows that young people in the North West have got what it takes and are able to set up new businesses.
“Having been an owner of a small business I know the challenges that young people face setting up a business.
“I hope the success of the government’s Start-up Loans scheme will encourage more young people to give it a go.”
