MORE than 600 people have visited Barnoldswick’s ‘inland’ beach in the first four days.
The sandy beach, set up in the town square, features donkey rides, a surfing simulator, a beach disco and a lifeboat display and runs until August 5.
Barnoldswick town councillor David Whipp said: “Last year, we had 10,000 visitors and all indications are there will be even more this year.” Hope Churches will provide craft activities on Mondays and Gisburn Road Children’s Centre will do craft activities on Thursday mornings.
Fellow town councillor Jenny Purcell said: “We’ve already had over 600 people visit the beach so it has been a fantastic start.
“It’s a fantastic event and always proves very popular.
The beach is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, except for the Bank Holiday Monday.
