A U-TURN on a government decision to increase pupil to staff ratios in nurseries has been welcomed as ‘good news’ by the National Union of Teachers (NUT).
Simon Jones, Blackburn with Darwen representative for the union, said: “This is a victory for the NUT and others who spoke out against these proposals and is certainly good news for the parents and carers who would have been faced with unacceptable ratios of carers to young children.”
