READERS wanting to investigate the thrills and mysteries of crime fiction and writing have three opportunities in Blackburn with Darwen’s libraries in the next few weeks.
National Crime Writing month takes place throughout the UK from May 31 – July 15.
The borough’s libraries are hosting three events.
On Wednesday, June 12 at 2pm, Bill Kitson, the creator of popular Detective Inspector Mike Nash, will talk about his Yorkshire-based series in his talk, ‘Killing Time’ at Blackburn Library.
Barbara Nadel makes a welcome return to the same venue on Wednesday, June 19 at 2pm. Perhaps best known for her books featuring Turkish detective Cetin Ikmen, Barbara has also written a crime series which is set in wartime London.
Finally, SJ Bolton will revisit her home town when she visits Darwen Library on Wednesday, July 3 at 7pm.
Sharon grew up in Darwen and many of her family and friends still live in the area.
Chair of the Crime Writers Association, Alison Joseph,. said: “National Crime Writing month is a wonderful opportunity for writers and readers to meet each other.”
Admission to events is £1.
